Re: Trip to the South West from the Midlands
Lots of good advice. We do Yorkshire to Cornwall and back on a regular basis. Rarely have a problem. Grab an app like ABRP, WattsUp, ZapMap or PlugShare to help you plan in advance. Cullompton (Ionity + 2 old Gridserve + Instavolt round the corner) and Exeter (Gridserve) are good suggestions for pla...

Re: MyŠkoda widget
Silly question, but I've seen on other forums people talking about the 12V battery draining if you keep waking the car to check the app for the car's battery status, doors, location, etc. and might the widget do the same? Very hard to filter common sense advice from bunkum.

Re: Charger recommendations for Octopus energy
The Enyaq is compatible, so you can get whatever cheap charger you like.
The dumber the better. But Zappi works well for me and worth the few quid extra.
As others have said, it's either/or, not both. Octopus just needs to control one, and it'll control your Enyaq.

Re: SW version 3.6
You might find more info on the VW forums, as they are generally a few months ahead in terms of software updates. I'm on 3.0 with no OTA updates pushed through yet. Not sure they will for older models.

Re: Emergency Cable Release
Had an old Ecotricity charger do this once. Turned the car off, waited, then on again, then could unlock. Didn't need to use the emergency manual override, so can't help the OP, but worth trying that first if there's a next time. I think if everything's working normally now and it's not happened sin...

Re: Adding the Enyaq to Octopus Intelligent
I might be tempted to clear the cache first, then uninstall, before reinstalling. Some apps still find a way of using the old data if it's not been cleared, even with a reinstalled app.

Have you removed the old car as a device in the intelligent Octopus app?

Re: How do you stop enyaq auto charging when you plug house charger in.
The most ours has charged at peak before the schedule overrides is around 1kW, or 10 minutes. Usually a lot less. Now, as others have said, I just click stop in the Skoda app after a few seconds, so the peak charge is negligible. The Intelligent Octopus schedule is still somehow set and the detail o...

Intelligent Octopus. 7.5p between 11:30pm and 05:30am. Daytime rate around the 30p mark. Another vote for Intelligent Octopus. Do the sums (daily standing charge is higher), but it's likely you'll be better off if you charge >35% off-peak, remembering you can do the washing-machine and/or dishwashe...

Re: Roof Bars
All of these things just increase the aerodynamic drag on the car. Drag increases according to the square of the velocity. A car doing a steady 70mph will experience ~36% more drag than one doing a steady 60mph - all other things being equal. And this is exactly the same for ICE and EV. These ICE d...
