Re: BBC article about EV driving and charging within Wales
As I regularly drive up the A470 to North Wales I know I can do it in an iV60, but for years when I had an ICE I made a point of stopping every couple of hours, so it was a natural progression to find chargers to stop at (preferably with decent toilets and coffee). That said, I take the point of the...

Re: Range
What Goaty said. Plus, with an iV60, even in near ideal conditions, I consider 200 miles as the realistic max range, regardless of what the 'guessometer' on the dashboard says.

Re: What if my Smart Meter does not connect to electricity supplier
You might have a problem if you wanted to use a tariff that offers cheaper off peak electricity, and this is the direction that the electricity industry is heading: dynamic charging. Also, if you are hoping for a grant towards the cost of charger installation, this is predicated on the charger being...

Re: Minimum power requirement for charging from home solar panels
You may be right, in which case the Enyaq might need a good talking to. It is frustrating to not be able to leave them to get on with it without worrying that a few clouds might interfere.

Re: Minimum power requirement for charging from home solar panels
You can set the Zappi to Eco+ and it will pause if generation drops below 1.4kW. It does a pretty good job of balancing domestic use (you don't want it to stop every time you put the kettle on) with charging. I find in practice that after several pauses it decides you don't have enough sun and stops...

Re: Minimum power requirement for charging from home solar panels
I have been using a 3kW solar array and a Zappi 2 for the past 7 months. Works for me. I also have Octopus GO tariff so I can instruct the Zappi to charge off-peak (during the night) at 5p per kWh. That rate is due for review in August. Zappi works well with solar as despite the 1.4kWh threshold, it...

Re: What do people think of the Enyaq’s pathetic horn?!
A loud horn is unnecessary for a quiet car, especially as I find other drivers are treating me with respect (so far). Having said that I am looking forward to the Colonel Bogey horn update, or possibly the Laurel & Hardy theme tune (I guess you have to be a certain age).

Re: Delivered WITHOUT ANY problems
Owned since mid August (ordered mid May). A slight delay in hand over from the dealer while they sorted out the software, otherwise good experience with the dealer, and no problems so far with the car, despite the steep learning curve.

Re: Charging With An EO Mini Pro (On Octopus)
I put 3.4KwH of solar into my Enyaq via the Zappi today. Not a lot, but every little helps. We only get about 3-4 hours of enough sun at this time of year, but next summer I expect 8 hours or more. We only have a 3Kw array, but the orientation is good. Octopus GO for bigger overnight charges.

Re: Range
Helijock: no heat pump. Too mild here in Wales to justify the cost. I'm also old school. If its hot open a window, or cold put a coat on.
