The 85 has exactly the same batteries as the 80.

The extra range is achieved by new motors and new battery management.
Wow, that was my bad. Clearly I have lost faith already and the misleading new model name did not help.

Re: 2024 version is now official

I am really disappointed with skoda. The OTA updates are a mess. New versions of cars and system come and they have hands full with everything. Now the MY24 car basically is and update of the battery size to keep public interest up. They advertize increased range as if it was something huge, but sla...

Re: Running costs

Simple. After 35000km I'm averaging little less than 20kWh/100km. During winter I have studded tyres. Weekdays mostly city driving and 1-2 times a month I drive a 500-1000km trip. I don't have home charging, so only public chargers for me. I mainly use local slow charger for 0.15e/kWh and during lon...

Re: My new Enyaq - already issues

In some types of battery the capacity seems to degenerate 10-20% in the first couple of years. Later on the degeneration rate is significantly slower. This is normal and varies by the battery chemistry. Regardless how the battery is charged

Re: Would you buy an iPhone 8 ?

No, no. I'm not shedding any tears for skoda or any other manufacturer at the moment. I'm as frustrated as the next guy with this issue. At the moment all manufacturers push out cars and software updates. Some handle the situation better than others, Tesla VS skoda for example. Tesla mostly listens ...

Re: Would you buy an iPhone 8 ?

In my honest opinion, this phone comparison does not apply here. At the moment Skoda and quite frankly every car manufacturer is struggling with the increasing amount of technology in their hands. These new EVs are basically computers on wheels. For a long time customers have been happy with what th...

Re: What does this mean for Skoda dealers?

Dealers will have their spot for years to come. Not all are willing to buy their first EV online and will need some info, assurance and counsel.

Re: Signs of things to come?

Classic.
This ground braking update must have been the reason, what has kept all the coders busy for the last 2 years. Why focus on promised updates on current fleet, when you can design exciting buttons.

Re: Hello & a quick query

Power output is indeed one concern. The second is safety. Wall chargers are generally safer due to being connected to grid without extra sockets or via n industrial socket. A granny charger is generally a safe option if everything is in order. The mobile charger is heavy and should not be left hangi...
