Re: Intelligent Octopus or Octopus Go

Just swapped over. It went very smoothly. I now just have to sort out the PV export which is slightly complicated by the fact we have 2 solar arrays. One was purchased 10 years ago (3.3kw) and has a FIT scheme and the other (4.4kw) was added 14 months ago with no FIT. The FIT is now with Ocotopus as...

Intelligent Octopus or Octopus Go

I could do with a bit of advice. We have a Zappi, 7.7Kw of installed Solar and Octopus Go. We charge our Enyaq only about 20-25 times per year (4hrs at 7kw) from imported grid energy as the rest of the year it's on solar. This all works fine and I've found the Zappi to be rock solid and reliable for...

Re: Efficiency - Is this normal? And any tips?

D mode is more efficient than B mode but there's not much in it. It would mostly come down to driving style preference.

Re: Strange one for you

I get the red light when using mine every day when on timer or solar only. The car is always open to being charged but the Zappi controls the flow. It will only charge overnight or when the sun shines. If neither of these two conditions are met, you get a red light. Is there a reason why your wall u...

Re: Cruise control and sat nav

It's possible to have a bad satellite lock where the car thinks you're displaced by a distance from your actual position. I've had this a couple of times before. The satnav can think you're on a nearby road and is basing its braking profile on that road rather than the one you're on. Oddly when I ha...

Stainless steel is a pretty weak material compared to regular steel and nothing like as strong as higher tensile specialist steels. It's a pity because stainless disks would be great on an EV otherwise.

Re: Winter efficiency?

I drove 160 miles yesterday at 4-5C on wet roads in the rain and averaged 3.6. However on the shorter journeys with lots of preheat it's sometimes under 3. I'm still pretty happy with this though.

Re: Wing Mirror Projection blurred

I know many people have had this. I had the impression it was down to being pressure washed which I have never done, and so far I have not had this problem.
