5000 miles and 50% through brake pads can't be right - there must be an issue. I know someone who changed theirs for the 1st time at 50000 miles and was told that it was the 1st set that had been changed on an Enyaq in that dealership and they knew of others on higher than 50k still on original pads.

I do think that the 21" wheels are more exposed than the 20's. The tyre walls stick out a lot further providing some protection.
