Re: Winter efficiency?

Did a 12 mile run to a nearby town for xmas shopping yesterday and got 2.9 on the way out - temperature about 0c. On the way back the temperature was nearer 5.5c and it rose to 3.2. @comment23 - my experience of motorways is that if you set 62mph, so a 'real' 60mph and just tuck in behind lorries (I...

Re: Is anyone's octopus energy app not scheduling any more

Mine behaves erratically. Sometimes it is fine, other times it just ignores the fact that I've plugged the car in. Last night I got the notifications* of multiple time slots scheduled, deleted the notifications and went to the app - where there was only 00.00 to 00.30 scheduled. Somehow it sorted it...

Re: Getting into the car when both key batteries are flat

We keep our keys in a tin by the front door. I bought a tin of Scottish shortbread biscuits and had to eat the biscuits before I could use the tin - well someone had to do it. I used a dot punch to punch in some 'pips' around the top, where the lid fits, to ensure a good connection. It stops any cha...

Using Waze and ACC

I don't bother with the car's own navigation system, I always use Waze through Android Auto. So, to the problem .. I get on the motorway, set the ACC and along I happily go at 70mph. As I pass a junction slip road (staying on the motorway), the ACC starts to slow the car and I have to force the spee...

Re: Home Charger - Tethered or Untethered?

I'd go for tethered provided:
- you have a type 2 on the car
- you get a long enough cable

If you have type 1, then make it untethered.

Re: Preheating isn't coming

And what damage does that ultrafast charging do to battery compared to the slow overnight charge at 7kW. The Nissan Leaf is an early design and has no active temperature management in the battery, but there are Leaf Taxis that have done 120,000 with rapid charging four time a day before having issu...

Re: 12v socket

Another use case I just found is pumps! Bought one for my kodiaq and no issues there. Went to pump my Enyaq tyres up (long journey, heavy luggage) only to discover I could do all the tyres EXCEPT the front passenger one!! You can buy an extension lead, with a socket at one end and a plug at the oth...

Whilst EVs are more expensive than ICE, I completely agree.
