ImageIn September 2021, I’m going to run and cycle close to 200 miles across Scotland from Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, the most westerly point on the Scottish mainland, to Scurdie Ness Lighthouse on the east coast, near Montrose. My support vehicle (driven by my wife, Marion) will be our Skoda Enyaq, ensuring the challenge is ‘carbon free.’

I’m aiming to raise money for the Breast Cancer Fund at St John’s Hospital in Livingston and for the Margaret Lee Oncology Fund at Edinburgh’s Western General Hospital, both funds managed by Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation. Our family has raised over £185,000 for these funds by holding our annual ‘Fish Supper Ceilidh’ in Falkirk Town Hall, but Covid restrictions meant that we couldn’t hold the ceilidh in 2021. Hopefully your donations will go some way to making up for this year’s gap in our fundraising.

My Facebook page will update on all aspects of the challenge, including training, route selection, lighthouse stories, driving an EV, planning the logistics of charging in remoter parts of Scotland with few (no!) chargers, as well as recognising some of the businesses who are supporting my efforts.
