Hello,

I’m using Intelligent Octopus and requested my first 100% charge last night. (Normally go to 80%)

IO is really clever and adjusts the cars normal limiter from 80% to 100%. (Or whatever is needed).

This morning I found out it stopped charging at 80%. I had a few ‘Failed to charge’ SkodaApp notifications.

I used the BumpCharge feature within the IO app to get me up to 100%. The app started but the car didn’t. So I went into the SkodaApp to ‘start charging’ but it came up with the following warning.

‘Battery Usage has been Limited’

Does this mean my 12v battery is running low?

Screenshot of error attached.

It would appear so, yes.

12v battery has gotten too low, so its shut off external comms.

The Intelligent FAQ tells me it does NOT override the car limiter. If Intelligent is set to 90% and the car to 80%, you only get 80%.

It also says the same thing on the page where you set the charge limit "Good to know: We wont charge your car beyond the limit you set in your car"

It can stop charging before the cars limiter is reached. So if the car was set to 80 and you told intelligent to charge to 60, then that works fine.

I will add though, it *could* just be a glitch. Perhaps even the app getting confused at you pressing "start charge" when the cars already at the 80% limit?

Nope, it’s your 12v battery running low.
A little trip out, it’ll charge it in minutes..

Thanks all. I got no errors when I took it out. Had a long drive planned and seems to be functioning well. I will keep an eye on it tonight and see how it goes.

Appreciate the inputs.

This error continues, every single night. The MySkoda app limit set to 100% or 90%. This is matched and updated the in car limit too (checked).

IO updated to either 90% or 100% but it stops at 80%.

Cannot get it to charge above 80%. It always stops.

If I ‘bump charge’, nothing happens. No more 12v battery warning but just the standard ‘operation failed’ warning comes up. I can’t manually start a charge through MySkoda as I believe IO rejects this.

Very confused but pointless if I can’t charge to 100% when I need it.

Email sent to Smart@OE but unlike other people’s experience my responses are weeks apart, not days.

Very frustrated.

Just to prove it’s the IO that’s the issue, I assume if you use another AC charger (eg at a supermarket or a granny charger) you are able to charge to 100% as expected?

To be honest, I haven’t. That’s a great suggestion, thank you RichR. I couldn’t think of another way around it because the charger will only connect to my car. I missed the obvious idea. I will use the ‘granny charger tonight’ and see how I get on.
