Just got back from the Dealer....here goes...

The dealer is Marshalls in Reading, and they had their Master Technician look at the car for about an hour and a half.

Firstly they took a download of all the diagnostics for the car and contacted their technical helpdesk regarding the problem. The only suggestion from the technical helpdesk was to remove a fuse located in the glove compartment (probably relating to the ESIM but didn't tell me) leave it for 10 minutes and then replace it and see if that fixed it. Basically, 'Turn it off and on again'.

This didn't fix the problem, so the last thing they tried was to see if there were any available updates for the software, but there weren't any.

So the Master Technician has taken all the downloaded diagnostics and has passed them to the Skoda UK Technical Helpdesk for a resolution. Normally they respond within 2 hours but with 'everything that is going on' this has been extended to two days. The dealership are then going to contact me when they get a response. This may then require the car being dropped back to them for 48 hours whilst they try and diagnose the issue more thoroughly. They have offered a replacement car if this is required.

So no solution yet, but i will update this thread as and when i get any more information.

I chased up the dealership, and they have apparently got a reply from Technical that involves a lengthy solution. They are going to take the Enyaq in on Monday for what is initially 2 days to implement it. They are providing a Skoda Superb as a replacement vehicle. Again, I will update this thread when I get any information.

So advancement!!!

On the way back from London on the M4, i noticed that the icon of the little fella in a secret agent getup that used to sit in the top bar to indicate that Private Mode was switched on, suddenly changed to bars, 3g, and a little icon of a world. Great I thought, it has somehow fixed itself....

When we got home the icon was still the bars and 3g, etc. but in the settings menu it still showed as Private Mode 'on' (and could not be disengaged), and the car still said it had not internet connection so could not complete registration of Skoda Connect.

So one step forward, but still not over the finish line. I am hoping that by the morning the car will have completely fixed itself and all will be well. Fingers crossed.

What sort of GSM signal do you get at home? It is interesting that you picked up a signal on the M4, wondering if your antenna is correctly connected and you just happened to be on top of a transmitter.

Phone signal at home is fine but does vary by supplier. The signal strength was shown as full bars all the way home and parked on the drive. I agree that the most likely fault will be connection between the ESIM and the aerial (if it doesn't have a built in aerial). I'll give the information to the Tech at the Dealership on Monday.

So the Enyaq went in yesterday at 12pm and they gave us a Superb iV Estate as a replacement car.

Apparently they have a list of things to 'try' so will be keeping the car for at least 48hrs.

Hope we didn't buy a lemon.

Just got this email from the dealership:

"Just want to keep as updated as I can….After me heading off to one of are other dealers this morning to collect a specialist tool required to complete the work we have been asked to do the car has been in the workshop most of the day and we have completed most of the items required by Skoda technical and as yet no change, we are now leaving the car disconnected overnight and will see if this will make any difference in the morning. If not then we might well have to go back to Skoda UK for any further suggestions.

I’ll let you know as and when I have any further updates."

So basically, they are turning it off and on again.

Doesn't look good.
