So I’ve had my enyaq 80 suite now for one month!, but as I’m retired most my trips are of a Sunday to different parts the country to shooting competitions, last week it was a 170 mile round trip and I had problems with the sat nav, on some small lanes the screen went blank but I still got the voice commands, today it was a 210 mile round trip, from a full 100% charge I arrived home on just 2% left in the battery that over 30% less than the 330 mile advertised and most of the trip was at a leisurely 60/65 mph, and that’s slow for me! , the lane assist is absolute rubbish as it bounces of the white lane lines and then will miss the line and veer off the road or across the other lanes, the drive is also very flitty and you have to stay with the drive the whole time
To make matters worse the sat nav today lost the voice commands but still had the picture on the screens, I also had the productive crash activate twice
Its no wonder Skoda don’t want you to do a extended test drive, I’m thinking about taking it back and rejecting the car, oh and before you ask this is car number 41 from the VAG group and the last 2 have been top of the range Tiguan R’s, can’t understand how the VAG group can go backwards with technology

/\ just one quick observation- the 330 mile range is what manufacturers call the ‘WLTP’ range. These are obtained in a manner which is consistent for all manufacturers. They don’t represent the real world range unfortunately.

For an ‘80 driven at this time of year on relatively flat surfaces at the speeds you’ve mentioned, people seem to be getting around 250 miles. ‘Enthusiastic’ acceleration and A/C or heaters will sap some mileage-potential, though ;-)

And this is part of the reason I've just ordered another diesel Kodaiq - the electric technology isn't quite mature enough yet. Here's hoping for more range in a few years. No chance of any electric car managing the 535 miles I got out of a single tank in my current car driving from Somerset to Fife back in July. Averaged 44.8mpg, with 4 on board and bags for our holiday.

That’s a shame Mike, I’m just out of a Passat GTE (similar price point to an enyaq) and I’d stopped using the Nav in that as it was just useless - i fully expect to use google maps rather than the Skoda nav most of the time - but used the car nav today to try it out and found it to be light years ahead of the Passat one I had. But Google Maps seemed better.

Hopefully the glitches will iron themselves out for you, or Skoda will sort your issues. Lots of comments from VAG group drivers currently (not just EV’s) over the glitchiness off the infotainment systems, hopefully over the air updates will improve it.

The lane assist doesn’t seem any different to a lot Ive tried, a bit intrusive but its a safety feature not self driving so its not bothered me. Had a Vauxhall loan car in the summer - that seemed to be trying to kill me with the lane assist!

Managed 240 miles this weekend in 12c weather at mix of motorway and a road speeds with 5% left. Air con off, heated seats on! 10 minute top up at Ionity for a bit of a buffer.

Did it wander off the lines on ‘major’ roads or on twisty B roads? My understanding of the lane-keeping function is that it’s better suited to motorways and major roads, and that we’re ‘on our own’ with regards to twisty country lanes (irrespective of road type, we have to keep our hands on the wheel anyway).

Also I wonder if the lane-keeping cameras are less effective if they’re dirty; you’ve mentioned what your weekend hobby is, so I imagine you might be travelling along quite a few mucky country lanes ?

With regards to ‘having to stay with the drive the whole time’ - you’ll know of course that it’s not a self-driving car ;-) If you’ve been a loyal customer to one or two dealerships over the years, perhaps they could let you try a different Enyaq to see if it behaves the same way? Maybe there are some glitches with your one, if the assist functions are unpredictable and erratic?

The lane keeping (and the excellent Travel assist) do need road markings to function correctly but both provide constant visual indication of this in the small display and also on the HUD. I am in France where main roads are well marked and I have taken to using travel assist almost as soon as I get up to the speed limit of 80 Km/h.
The only problem I am found with Travel assist is on the Motorway is if I get to 110Km/h and engage travel assist is when it sees a 130Km/h sign it increases speed.
Happy with reductions to conform to limit but not increases as I want to maximise range.

Well I’ve had the car just over a month now and done 1250 mile and all I can say is it’s the worst car (electric wise) I’ve ever owned, last week we went to the Isle of Wight and just about everything and every thing that the car could throw at me it did, and I’m not joking when I say that, so the first day back I paid the dealer a visit, they are having the car in, and that have given me a curtesy car booked out indefinitely
Oh not all bad though the matrix headlights are fantastic and possibly better than the Tiguan
