After the 8 screws (3) have been removed from the upper cover panel (2) there are then 6 tabs which have to be released at the front of the the cover panel. These attach the upper cover to the front grille itself. Three each side.

They are a real tight fit and almost impossible to access. The more you bend and lift up the upper cover to get at them the tighter they become.

I had a quick look behind my grille this morning and I managed to take a few pictures, but were hard to get as there's not a lot of room for access.

To do it properly its gonna be a 'release the bumper and slide it forward job' like EVDan had carried out by his dealer. Its not too difficult a job, just needs 2 or 3 pairs of hands to support the bumper once its moved forward.

Or you could just keep attacking the chrome tabs till they all break off and release the chrome surround !

I've only got the same diagram Tony posted. The documentation really wants you to remove the complete bumper assembly, then separate the grille from it once it's off the car.

Done mate no need to remove bumper if you are happy to persist and possibly loose some blood haha.

Out of interest, is the 60 black grille surround plain black or does it have metallic sparkly bits like the Sportline black bits?

Has the metallic sparkle to it, assuming it's just the sportline grill is the only black option for the grill.

Cheers - just wondered if there were three grille surrounds or just two (chrome and black).

Think there is just 2 with 2 variants of each ie with or without Crystal Grill
