The key fob LED flashes when the doors are shut. I wonder why?

Thanks very much been able to download them. Downloaded both 2021 and 2022. My car has not been built yet but hoping I get 2022 plate.

I think if you look at the manuals on that site for the Enyaq it’s the same November 2020 one. The printed manual you get with the car is much smaller and just refers you to the online manual for a lot of things.

The 2020 one whilst it does have some inaccuracies is worth reading though, and it’s what I tend to use as it’s got a nice index.

The dealer told us it does this when it recognises the car in its range. If you walk further away it stops.

Both of the above and as others have explained the car uses a mix of tech to know the key is in range and moved recently. When neither are true the light will turn off. As you get closer and keep the key moving the light will flash to show it has a valid connection to the car. Once it starts to flash you can use the fob keys to open it but because of UWB technology the car knows the key is still too far away to use KESSY (by pulling the handle or kick to open boot lid). So it is a very secure setup. If the light is not flashing then there is no way someone can use the key to open the car.

I'm convinced but don't know for sure, that the interior ambient lights flash red briefly when the key is close enough for door handle unlocks to function. It only seems to do it when I walk towards the car, and only once. I guess it maybe has a timer before it goes back into secure mode again or something. I gave up testing because walking toward and away from the car in the dark in the drizzle and cold was a bit of an odd thing to be doing
