Sorry if this has already been covered, but is there a way to activate the screen washer, which is always required, without washing the headlights which is rarely required? I'm aware of the non-existent non-return value creating a delay but, at this time of year, the headlight washers do nothing except waste washer fluid. To be honest I rarely want them in the winter either.

/\ I don’t know the answer to this as I don’t have those lights on my Enyaq - but I remember once inadvertently spraying a pedestrian when my BMW lights decided it was time for a wash, just as I flicked the stalk to put a little fluid on the windscreen. I’m not sure how it used to determine when the light washers needed to activate, but unlike the windscreen ones where you can generally control how much water you need, the light washers would squirt for about 3 or 4 seconds and create quite a mist! I got an “Oi” shouted at me 😂

I thought that 1) The headlight washers only operate when your headlights are on and 2) They only operate every few cycles of the windscreen wash? On my Kodiaq it was every 10 cycles, but I've not counted on the Enyaq. On my Enyaq the headlights aren't washed if the lights are off

In the manual it says:
When the headlights are switched on, they are cleaned the first time and after every tenth wash of the windscreen. Setting the spray interval can be carried out by a specialist garage.

So that implies it can be changed to be more than the default 10 washes (I believe that all headlights with a light output greater than a certain level legally must have washers that activate automatically, so it's probably not possible to completely disable it).

It is a legal requirement for this type of headlight to have washing system to prevent glare to oncoming traffic, so it can’t be turned off. At best you may be able to reduce frequency of operation.
How you use the washers can increase use of headlight washers. Best to pull and hold until sufficient on windscreen when headlights are on. If you do lots of short squirts each counts towards the next repeat of headlight washers operation.
The Enyaq and my previous Karoq did not use that much compared to prior Yeti’s. They could empty a large tank of washer fluid in a 70 mile trip at times.
You can dilute it in summer anyway and use virtually plain water. You only need anti freeze protection when frost is likely.
