Love the car. Hate this feature!

Our recent combustion engined cars featured stop start technology. It did not suit my driving style so I turned it off every time as part of my start up procedure. (Children-approaching 50th birthdays-and grandchild don’t like stop start either so it is not an age thing). It felt good to get rid of this minor irritant. Unfortunately the Enyaq has a feature that I find even more annoying. I refer of course to lane assist technology. That unwanted, unasked for, intrusive, interfering tug at the steering wheel is a confounded nuisance. Obviously it can be turned off every time but it is a bit more of a palaver to do so. Does anybody know if there is a process to permanently disable this feature? (No criticism intended of those who love lane assist-I see it as very much a matter of personal preference.)

Didn't you specify it as part of the Assisted Drive Package Plus? Don't think it's a standard feature? And it's not in the Assisted Drive Package Basic either.

Sorry I can't help any more - sounds like you either need to learn to live with it or else get used to the palaver of turning it off each time. It might be possible to turn it off permanently via the ODBII port, but I really have no knowledge on that score and whether you want to start messing about with that sort of thing on your brand new car is a different matter.

It's a bit like ACC for some - rather different in the way it operates compared to normal cruise control and my parents don't get on with it on their new Audi and now curse that their car "doesn't have a usable cruise control". Well yes it does, they just need to learn how to use it properly. Sadly you can't turn off the adaptive part of it and just use it like a conventional cruise.

No, we took what was available so did not specify it. It came as rather a surprise… Rather like having a phantom third party wanting a quick go at the primary control. Also right to surmise that I don’t want to be messing with the programming side of things but if there were an established method that would be another matter. Thanks for help.

Ah, didn't realise you'd just bought one with options already fitted - much like my Kodiaq a few years back, the deal was just too good to pass up even though it has some things that are pointless and some that are missing that I would have added given the choice.

Sorry I wasn't really much help there...

You can disable Lane Assist in this menu:

Not just when changing lane but in all manner of situations. The more road markings there are-and the fresher they are- the more nanny state it gets. As has been suggested I’ll just have to get used to it/switching it off. Thanks for input.

I am fine with the feature. Works well.
On the subject for features the speed limiter does not handle speed bump speed limites well, due to no end limit sign is present (here in France anyway) .

Spent some time working through the various menus, and disabled the annoyance as usefully recommended above. I am glad that some people-perhaps a majority-like it and find it useful. I suspect it is a Marmite thing anyway.

Yes... Marmite indeed. I hated it to start with but now find it useful. Anyway, it's too difficult to turn off. I'm also a bit 'Marmite' on AutoHold - for precision manoeuvring it needs to go off, but you can make a shortcut to 'favourites' for that function... but not for 'lane assist', it seems.
