Tow Hitch has bricked the car

My Skoda dealer has just installed the OEM tow hitch on my 2024 Enyaq 85 and the associated software update has 'made the car undriveable' (error lights etc.). He says Skoda is working on a fix but it's been a week and a half now. Anyone experiencing similar?
Ask your dealer to confirm that they have checked with Skoda Technical that the current 'OEM' towbar is compatible with the Enyaq 85 even though you have 'towbar preparation'. You may find that even though it does, and the towbar physically fits and was probably ordered using your VIN, that the two are incompatible.
Skoda Technical should be able to answer this question straight away.

This was seemingly a common issue when people fitted aftermarket tow bars. Its very likely a programming issue.
When you install an aftermarket tow bar, you need to manually code the various modules to let the car know the towing equipment is fitted. When the car is connected to the dealer equipment eg for a software update, it reverts the coding back to factory, and the car then brings up loads of warnings. The dealers are either incapable or lacking knowledge to manually recode, and folks have ended up having to take the car back to the towbar installer for them to fix the programming.
Now, when you buy the official Skoda bar, it comes with an electronic "token" which is applied to the cars build in the dealership system, this updates the official factory build of the car to include the towbar and so the dealership computer knows the car has a towbar and can properly recode the car with the correct settings, avoiding this issue.
It sounds like for whatever reason the token hasnt applied properly either due to a dealership error, or a wider Skoda problem, and thus the system hasnt properly coded the car. I do sometimes wonder about the skill level at modern dealerships. It feels like they often lack any real technical knowledge and resort to following instructions on a screen step by step. When something goes awry, they have insufficient understanding to actually fix it. Even basic diagnostics these days are "guided" by the computer, with step by step instructions.

Thanks both. The dealer has told me that their guys have been on a few calls with Skoda Technical and so far Skoda has not been able to fix it.
Rumour is that this is a problem with a new 'version' (?) of the coding for the towbars. I've dug around on various forums though and haven't found anyone else talking about it

Hi, today supposed to be the delivery of my new 85 including a towbar (retrofit, OEM). Yesterday the dealership called with what looks exactly the same issue as descripted above. Anyone found a working solution yet?
