Same again today.. Wanted to manually preheat the car before heading out, but (car) 12volt battery says "no".

Skoda really need to sort this out.

I understand that the limitations are inconvenient, but there are worse situations, like in my case :)) My message says, "battery protection limit exceeded: to continue using remote control, drive your car to recharge the battery." Ignoring these messages leads to the 12V battery draining. I contacted Skoda support through live chat, and they advised me to file a complaint through the leasing company. We'll see what comes of it.

Our 85 Edition had the problem where it wouldn't unlock about a month ago. We got it it back to the Skoda dealership with the help of the RAC but after a night's charge they found no problem with the 12v battery. The 12v warning light came back on a day after a 180 mile drive but then disappeared again the following day.

We haven't used the car much since but when I went to drive it last week it would unlock but I couldn't move the seat or get the wing mirrors to move etc.
I charged the 12v battery overnight and the voltage then read 12.7v and the app reported that everything was fine but when I went to use the car for the first time since it has no infotainment screen and won't start again. The 12v battery now reads 7.4v.

The dealership can't look at the car for over a month so I'm stuck charging before every journey unless a fix happens.

Don't want to jinx it but had my 12v battery replaced 8 weeks ago on my enyaq 85 MY24 and not had any problems since.

Prior to that was getting constant Battery Protection messages, doors wouldn't unlock with touch, couldn't use the app to preheat the car etc.

Was this replced by the Skoda dealership? Did they find a fault on the battery or simply swap it? I'm keen to know as mine was in at the dealers late last year for the same reasons you stateand they said the battery was fine but I've had messages since with the frequency getting progressively worse (despite charging the 12V battery myself)and it's booked to go back at the end of Jan. I fear they'll tell me they still can't find an issue but pretty much everytime I get in the car now I get the 12V battery warning on the dash - I haven't been able to use the app for weeks!

Yes there was a fault with the 12v battery found. I also had a report from the skoda breakdown guy saying faulty 12v so maybe that helped.

I was having daily 12v battery warnings on the dash too before it was replaced

We had our 12v battery replaced just before Christmas and from then until now we have had no issues.

This was replaced by the ŠKODA assist VWG breakdown person at our home.

However today, the message came back for the first time. It’s -6’C and my wife was in and out of the car loading things with the key in her pocket, which kept switching on and off approach lights and opening and she was opening and closing the boot a few times. The app was and is working flawlessly since Christmas.

Hopefully this a genuine case for the battery protection and not the start of the problems again!

Thanks for this - hope I get the same result when mine goes into the dealership.

I had a replacement 12v battery fitted by the guys at Willis Skoda in South Ruislip last week under warranty.

It seems to have fixed both the KESSY / Keyless Entry issue and the app issue.

They managed to book me in within about a week's notice and fixed it same day. I'd recommend them if you're local.

My recommendation would be to focus on the fact your keyless entry isn't working - clearly it's a lot harder to evade and issue with an app (phone, software, servers, connectivity) rather than something which can only be down to the key (take both!) and the car.

I’ve taken mine back in yet again today and they just won’t replace the battery telling me Škoda warranty wont pay for replacement batteries. Kept fobbing me off saying it’s an app issue and I have to wait for an update ‘at some point’. I told them until I was blue in the face, how can the app stop keyless entry working, it’s not even an option on the app! It’s getting beyond a joke. Getting multiple warnings daily within minutes of getting out of the car. I’m going to get in touch with Škoda as this is totally unacceptable and file a formal complaint.
It seems the dealer just doesn’t get it.
