Anyone else notice that despite believing a wallbox should be allowing a 7kw charge, they are only seeing the charge being 3.5kw according to the app?!

Hi,

From memory the PodPoint I’m getting is available in both 3.5 kW and 7 kW versions. Are you certain that you have a 7kW charger ?

Nope. Not certain, was installed a couple of years back when I got a leaf. Just assumed it would be 7kw, didn't know there were different options!

I chose to upgrade to a 7.2kW when I had mine installed despite my Outlander PHEV only charging at up to 3.6kW - as I expected my next car would be able to do 7.2kW.

Speak to PodPoint, they may be able to upgrade it. More likely to be the cabling and breaker that need changing than the unit.

In the Pod point instructions there is a section that tells you about how to set it to its maximum charge 7kw or lower the kw down , so the Pod point might have been set up at a lower kw.

I don't have a podpoint. I have a chargemaster (now BP)

Again - I think they were available in 3.6kW and 7.2kW versions. Just depends what you bought really.

Is this the Pod Point app or the Skoda app. I don't have my car yet so can't comment about that but I do know the app for our Rolec wall box displays half hour figures so although it shows charge rate as 3.5 kwh it is providing the full 7kwh. Just a thought

It's the display within the Skoda app...
