Will our cars accept the high power type 2 cables at services??

Perhaps a silly question, but if I plug a 40+kw type 2 cable into the car, will it charge at this rate?

Type 2 connection is an AC charger - I think you will get 11Kw. For more you need DC or combo connection.

Enyaq can take 11kW ac maximum. Very few cars take more as the cost of an inverter to turn that into dc increases and it’s not worth it when dc chargers of over 100kW are so plentiful.

Interesting. Seem to be a fair few type 2 high power cables out there. Wonder which car(s) use them...

Not sure if I fully understand the question. What you generally see at services are high power DC units. When I plug into these, I get 50kW charging (as my budget didn't allow for the fast charge upgrade...) if the unit says 150kW I still get 50kW. And luckily in the UK, we pay per kW, not per minute attached to the charger as in France

Look at the picture. Will the type 2 cable also charge our cars at 43kw if the CCS was faulty?

Renault Zoe can use 43kW ac charging - mainly because until the latest version they had no dc charging option.

This. I believe most high powered AC chargers are for the likes of the Zoe. It has a higher power 3 phase AC charger on board. Skoda elected to go for DC for fast charging so AC maxes out at 11kW, regardless of the charger you might find. So to get fast charging you need to find CCS chargers. AC will work as a backup but only upto 11kW.
