At what point did they inform you of that? Was it before the build, or afterwards? If they did that to me, specifically with the traffic jam assist, then I would reject the car. Child locks though I could live without so that would not be a problem, and in fact I wouldn't even argue over the price for that. Now I'm wondering if my car will turn up with everything that I have ordered, even though it is currently sat awaiting a ship in Emden.

/\ likewise - Although I wasn’t really sure if Traffic Jam Assist is part of the Asst Drive Basic package, we’ve concluded elsewhere on this forum that it is, and so I’d be really annoyed if they remove this function, just to get the car to me.

Do we know if any of these removed features ( electronic child lock, Traffic Jam Assist etc) can be retrospectively fitted once the chips are in supply again ?

I was informed today, a few weeks before it's due to be built. My only options were to cancel or accept and there was no offer of any reimbursement.

There was no mention of it being added at a later date but I also didn't ask.

I also ordered the Traffic Jam assist etc. option back in July - just waiting for a similar message from my dealer as to whether its still going to be fitted.

Also noticed that its now completely removed from the latest price list (Sept 2021). Chip supply problems ? ? ? ?

They're charging the same cost for the Assisted Drive Package Basic tho !

I've had the email aswell about the child locks on the rear
Not too worried about that
I ordered mine in 1st August and they been saying in emails due late Jan when I spoke to them about the child locks he said were hoping for your car by December we will see

A friend has ordered a new Merc and he was told about 2.5k of stuff is going to be missing but tried to offer £250 compensation to make up for it lol

All of this sort of thing makes me very nervous about ordering a new car from Skoda (or any other manufacturer for that matter). Perhaps I would buy a car from stock as you then know what it's got fitted, but if the manufacturers are now into the realms of randomly not fitting certain optional extras that you have ordered (and paid for) and not offering any discount or compensation, then there's no way they're going to get much new business if that comes out in the National press...

Whilst I'm sure they have leverage at the moment as people who have orders already placed can be threatened with a long delay, I would be surprised if it stood up for long if someone decided to challenge them on the legal aspects of charging for something they are not delivering. I'm no legal expert, but I'd be fairly certain that UK consumer law would not allow them to just shrug their shoulders and say "tough, you're still paying for it even though we're in breach of contract..."

Agreed, although it seems many manufacturers are trying it on anyway.

Unfortunately I think manufacturers get away with things like this, with the “specifications are subject to change without prior notice” message often tucked away in the small-print somewhere.

Quick update from my dealer and they say no change to my build spec, so Traffic Jam assist is still included.

Build week has also been brought forward 3 weeks to wk43 from wk 46 (ordered week 35 - end July). Not holding my breath tho !!

Just been told this afternoon that Traffic Jam Assist will be removed from my spec (bit late telling me - my Enyaq is apparently already at the port in Germany).

… and it can’t be retrofitted later on.
…oh and the price won’t be reduced, either.

I had the Assisted Drive Basic pack. Ordered late May 2021.

I was looking forward to having this feature. A bit annoyed at the moment.
