Hi All,
I have an Enyaq iv80, bought pre=spec so I didn't have the option to upgrade from 50kw to 125kw charge capacity. The latest pricing in Ireland seems to indicate that the 125Kw is now standard spec on the car. Does anyone know if they will be offering 50kw owners the option of upgrading their charging capacity. i am led to believe that it is only a software upgrade.
thanks
upgrading charge rate post purchase
Hi Gav,
Just logged on to the Skoda ireland website and both the 50 & the 80 base specification still show 50 kW charging - sorry. I got all excited there for a moment! Drat!

125kW charging is standard on some specs in some countries For a standard 60 or 80 in the UK, it's still an option (and probably will remain so, as not everybody will use it). For 80X it's standard in the UK though for example.
As to upgrade, yes this has been announced by VW and Skoda as being something that will be offered eventually. Remember that that the Enyaq has only been on sale in the UK for 5 months, so not all the servicing and upgrade things have been implemented yet. But I would expect next year we may see dealers starting to offer certain upgrades to existing cars.

CARIAD (VW Group software arm) are even going so far as to say that features will be offered 'on-demand' so you can even have things like ACC (assuming all hardware is there) is just activate for that long drive when you need it and you pay-per-use for it. So a few features you'd not dream of buying for fear of never using them, may be had as pay-per-use. I can see this is the way they will all go eventually, subscription models are a big winner for cash flow.RichR wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 9:16 am 125kW charging is standard on some specs in some countries For a standard 60 or 80 in the UK, it's still an option (and probably will remain so, as not everybody will use it). I don't know about the future, but for now upgrading the charge rate after leaving the factory is not an option.
I have asked about this and both my company fleet sales dealer and my local Skoda garage came back with the response that charge rate is not just a software thing - it requires a new inverter in the car, so unlikely to be a dealer fit option in the near future.
I was disappointed to hear this, but having lived with the car (iV80) for 2 months now, my range anxiety has gone and I've come to the conclusion that it will only impact me on trips over around 450 miles in a day which is probably once or twice a year. Otherwise I am happy that a one stop strategy with a short break gets me where I want to go

This is the brochure for the enyaq in Ireland, its listing the 100kw and 125kw as the standard spec now. although it comes with a higher price also

What is standard varies by country. In France matrix lighting and the luggage add-on are included in the price. In Finland the heat pump.
IV60 Energy Blue, Loft, Matrix LED Lights, Drive assist+, Parking Assist+, HUD, Transport, Comfort, Tow bar. Schneider EV Link charger, 7000 Govt Grant - France, Delivered June 21.
Looks like post-purchase upgrading from 50kW to 125kW is now available in Germany and Denmark (and presumably elsewhere) for about the same price as choosing it at purchase time:

And elsewhere I've seen that like the VW models, the 100kW is being lifted to 115kW and the 125kW to 170kW soon (probably when we get our similar big software update).
Of course by the time mine gets built (Christmas?) who knows what'll be present

The dealer has told me they don't do 50kw charging now on the 60 and it's a standard 100kw
Ordered a 60 on sep 13th. Most packs, free upgrade to 100kw charging and boot tray, race blue. Build week of 7th march 2022. Charger install 25th January. At UK port 1st June. Hopefully picking up by 16th june
Yes, I've seen that mentioned a few times recently that it has changed on the configurator - the prices have gone up accordingly.
Doesn't bother me as I ordered 125kW charging anyway
