... not me (I'm still waiting)... but a chap who's been chronicling life with his Enyaq over the last 4 months.
Mr Fossilnot, please see @4.47... Was this the same noise you had on your radio?

I've not had that noise from the radio but occasionally I can hear the cars motor whine via the radio but not all the time.

I've had other similar issues such as the screen freeze which only happened once and the sunroof not working i've had a couple of times.

Hopefully just a software update will fix these. Fleas and ticks of owning a very newly released car I guess.

Yes, it's a brand new model, not based on anything previous using totally new software and hardware. There are bound to be issues. I remember my dad got a Mark 2 Astra back in the early 1980s when they first came out, and that was back to the dealership for many weeks with several little issues and one engine related ones. Cars are very complicated things, and now way more so than they were back then. It's one of the perils of buying new. If you buy a 3 year old car, the chances are that the dealership mechanics have had chance to get familiar with the model, and found solutions to common issues. But if you buy something that's new on the market, the solutions aren't known yet.

It's no different to anything else that's complex - it is not possible to fully test everything in all situations any more, so there will always be an element of the customer base finding problems and once solutions have been found, future customers won't have those problems. Let's face it - we're used to computer software having monthly updates to fix problems, even 10-15 years after it was released. Cars really aren't much different in terms of complexity.

Whilst in some ways I'm jealous of people who already have their Enyaqs, I'm also slightly happy that you guys are finding the problems that hopefully Skoda will be able to find solutions for by the time mine gets delivered...

You are right - pity though for the guy in the video as he started his series of YouTube videos with so much positivity and enthusiasm - and it’s now clearly taking the ‘shine’ off of what should be ‘happy times’. I hope dealerships are properly looking after people with these issues.

I had one of the very first new shape Vectra’s in 2002; no end of problems and it went up to Luton twice for the engineers at Vauxhall to look into it. I remember my local Vauxhall dealership saying their engineers weren’t used to such an advanced model  After about a year they gave up and I was given a different one. When I checked the reg a few years later online, it said ‘Marked as exported’. No idea what they did with it. Perhaps sent it back to Germany where it was built, for inspection and recycling.

I had a 2003 Vectra Dual Fuel (second hand) - can honestly say that although it was the dullest car I've ever owned, it was very reliable, comfortable and economical. Apart from when the garage I bought it from replaced the cam angle sensor with a non-GM one just before I bought it. It would go into limp home mode very often with a misfire code logged and they kept blaming the LPG system. But it was clear that had nothing to do with it, because eventually I got them to phone the Vauxhall dealers and ask their mechanics about the symptoms, who said straight away - you've put a cheaper sensor in haven't you? Apparently you can get away with it on the Astra version of that 1.8 litre engine, but not the Vectra.
Again - the problem was well known to Vauxhall mechanics, but they probably only knew because after a few cars came to them with the problems and through a process of investigation eventually found the cause of the problem. But the car has to be out in the wild for some time for these solutions to be found.

Apologies for not responding to the query (video 4.47) above at an earlier date-I have been indisposed. The noise is similar to that made by my car but not quite the same.
Today I was leafing through settings in connection with a separate issue and stumbled across something along the lines of, ‘Return to Standard Settings’ in connection with the radio and made a mental note that this was where I would have to come back to if the noise problem recurred. It was: MENU-SETTINGS-Sorry I can’t be more specific than this.

I’ve just taken a quick peek at the trims around my side glass. UK RHD car driver’s side perfect. Nearside has the same problem as shown above but slightly less pronounced.
Marinas and the like of the seventies had a similar problem. The recommended fix was a strategically placed block of wood and bend the door/window frame…

A rider to add to the bit about the unpleasant noise: it needed powering down completely and restarting (as though it were a misbehaving computer) before the menu could be accessed…

/\ no need to apologise :-) There was no guarantee you’d actually look at this specific thread. Thanks for the response though. I guess the source input (music style) would affect the distorted output on the radio.
