Hallelujah!! It works!!! It was enabled in infotainment but it seems my leg action was questionable all along. Needed to give it more time to react and open. It is dead centre and not that far back as illustrated in an earlier post. Glad it’s cleared up my confusion with the tow bar.

Yay! Took me a few attempts but I think giving it a couple of seconds after removing your foot seems to be what I was getting wrong.
