Hi all,
New to the group and all going well should have my Enyaq before Christmas?
Will be charging my car whilst at work but no 7kw charger available, just wondering if anyone charges via a 240v supply (blue industrial socket) instead of a 3 pin plug?
My thinking is maybe its safer than the heat build up which I've seen can be caused to a 3 pin socket?
I know obviously it's a granny charge but still juice going in?
Not sure if I'm just over thinking this but any advice would be great.
Thanks in advance. Hazy
Charging with type 2 to 240v (blue industrial socket)
I used a granny charger for a full week whist on holiday from a 50meter extension lead, lead is 2.5mm flex with a good 13a plug top and socket (not the normal cheap plug top) I had no problems with that, but the 15amp round pin caravan type socket and plug would be a bit better if it was water proof, I ended up putting my outside socket by the car in a Tupperware type container not ideal

something like this?
Enyaq iV 80 Loft, 125 kW DC charging, heat pump, assisted drive+, parking+, convenience basic, towbar prep, ME3.0 update. MyEnergi Zappi v2 charger. Intelligent Octopus, referral code to share Β£100: share.octopus.energy/sunny-fox-995
As you probably know, the smaller 16a blue camping sized plug will only do around 3.6kw, but the 32a will manage 7kw.
There are also cables with three phase red sockets that will do 11kw at both 16a and 32a (can do 22kw, but the Enyaw can only pull 11kw) if you can use that at work as well.

Make sure you check socket amperage as usual are a different size for 16A & 32A blue commando sockets
60 Loft, Parking Basic Package, Moon White
