I have searched high and low to find out if the Enyaq has an electronic emitter warning noise for pedestrians at low speed to no avail. I have seen it advertised in the Enyaq brochures and see that it will be mandatory but mine does not make that noise. Can it be switched off or am I missing something. Any help would be grateful as I work with blind or visually impaired people. ;)

If you open the windows and drive slowly you should hear it. It's louder when in reverse and it is only active upto 20mph.

It tells you in the manual that it can’t be turned off too. Above 20mph tyre noise is loud enough to not need it.

It's still pretty quiet though. And as far as I know no manufacturer is using the sound developed with RNIB, so they are all slightly different.

If you go to a multi-storey carpark and open your windows, you’ll hear it. It’s a synthesized whine. Quiet ethereal actually but I really like it! I hope they never change it!

Not quite as Star Wars sounding as the Porsche Taycan... but still sounds like the future.

I wonder if one day we'll be able to change the sounds, like changing your ringtone?

The Enyaq is named after the Irish name Enya (with a Q on the end like all Skoda’s SUV type cars). So logically it’ll have to be something by Enya. Orinoco Flow maybe? 😄
