What tyre pressures are folk running their tyres on?
On our iV80 with 19" we have Pirelli Scorpion 235/55 R19 101T and 255/50 R19 103T front and rear.
The label inside the driver's door frame suggests 2.5 to 2.7 bar (36 to 39 psi) partially laden, 3.0 to 3.5 (44 to 51 psi) fully laden.
These seem really high! We thought they might explode!
They came inflated to 2.5 bar (36 psi) and the Kwik-fit website suggests 2.3 bar (34 psi).
I know higher pressure = more efficient, but stiffer ride.
Any thoughts?

Go with recommended pressure ranges. They won't explode. It's a big car

There are other factors, for one thing it weighs over 2 tonnes. It will have higher tyre pressures than a lighter vehicle. For example, my wife’s VW Caravelle runs 3.5 bar - that weighs 3 tonnes.

Thanks all. I should have said "the wife" thought they were going to explode! ;)

My push bike runs at 50+ PSI, so think we’re all right with the recommend pressures for the Enyaq.

Funny this came up today.

I was washing car yesterday and saw it say 2.5 on the label for the 20”. I thought that seemed high.

I checked my tyres and they was all exactly 2 bar. Which is quite a bit lower.

Guessing they PDI’d the car using tyre pressures of one of their lighter cars.

Wonder if I will get better economy now all my tyres are at the correct pressure.

And the space saver spare in my Kodiaq runs at 60psi and categorically doesn't explode, although it might if I tried driving on it at only 35psi!

Brief update: we realised the numbers are not a range, but different pressures for front and rear axles on the 80.

Our iV60 recommends 2.5 bar all round (lightly laden) which I have maintained strictly since new (using fancy digital gauge which agrees with the pump supplied with the car). I checked the tyre wear recently at 6400 miles just before fitting AllSeason tyres only to find significantly more wear in the centre of the tread of all tyres suggesting they were all over inflated. With the new tyres fitted (Goodyear Vector) and the pressure dropped to 2.35 bar the car rides much better than before! Whether from the reduced pressure (I'd be surprised) or the different tyres I'm not sure.
