Hi,

Looking at the E.ON Next Drive tariff which offers 4p KW charging between midnight and 4am.

It appears to suggest you need one of the listed compatible home chargers OR a compatible vehicle.. but the Enyaq and ID3/4 are not listed though the list does include the Audis, the Skoda CitiGo etc.

Has anyone set this tariff up for their Enyaq? Our charger is Ohme Pro. I’ll give E.on a call on Monday I think.

Be sure to look at your day rate and see if you actually going to save any money with the cheap rate for 4 hours. If you or your family spend a lot of time at home during the day rate will be higher than most fixed sate and probably even the price cap.

/\ Biohzrd is 100% correct. I nearly jumped at the chance to pay 5p at night (4 hours) and 16p the rest of the time with Octopus - instead of a flat rate of 12.5p for 2 years, but after analysing a few scenarios on a spreadsheet, it become obvious the flat rate was the way to go for us. We use about 40kW per day for household electricity and probably only 10kW per day for the car. There aren’t many household things which we can shift to 12:30 ~ 04:30 !!

Bloody hell what do you run in your house on the daily ?

We are lucky if we use 12kW to 15kW at the moment and maybe a.max of around 25kW in the winter time

/\ We made the stupid mistake of putting in electric underfloor heating instead of radiators when we went ‘open plan’ and ripped out several walls 10 years ago 😩

It does drop a lot during the summer. Just had a quick look and actually only used 17.6 kW so far today. But no ironing / washing machine / tumble drier / oven / dishwasher use yet !

Eon website suggests the tariff is not available at the moment. Not actually seen any EV cheap rates available since I got the car in November.

With all the turmoil in the electricity and gas markets in the last few months, most companies aren’t taking on new customers. It makes it extremely difficult for them to forecast how much they need to buy from the generators - deals are made months before it’s delivered and there are all kinds of regulatory things they have to comply with. Once the market settles down they’ll be able to make more accurate forecasts and probably recalculate the available tariffs, then open up customer transfers again. This is true for business supply as well as domestic btw.

Fair enough my partner likes to have tumble/washing/dishwasher on every day it's a nightmare !!

I think it's the Gas that's killing us at the moment.

We are an all electric, 2 bed apartment with elec. Wet central heating, with a new boiler. During the winter we use between 60 -70 kWh per day. In summer about 14 kWh.
And we are careful. Anyone lucky enough to have a gas boiler, DON'T let anybody convince you to change to any form of electric heating. We have no choice as no gas in the block.

I'd get a heat pump if only possible, would get a lot higher efficiency for heating.
