This will be my 6th when I eventually get it my first was an Octavia green line. But the way this is going I might not get another.
Right???
My previous car was also my first Skoda - a Kodiaq vRS. Dennis Horton Skoda Lincoln were
amazing - really rolled out the red carpet. Very transparent with everything, helpful with test drives etc, and really made the handover feel like a special occasion. The car itself was incredible, but it's the service I had from them that ultimately led me back to Skoda.
This time around? Pretty f'n terrible. I
never find out of any delays through them; I always have to end up hearing about it through a motoring website. And then when I ask them about it it's 'yeah, that sounds right'. They're not very forthcoming with anything; haven't been for the last 8 months, and I no longer trust them to even stay on the ball with the order and any information that might be pertinent to it, much less make the experience seem great. This is the experience I will think about when I think about where to get my next car from in a few years time.
On the flipside, we have 'a guy' at Hyundai Lincoln who my wife got her current and previous two cars from. In March this year when the EV market was being buried under orders, my wife enquired about trading in for a Kona EV knowing that there was a year's wait for them brand new. He got her into a year-old ex-demo within 10 days. In 10 years of business together he has never once let us down.
Skodas are nicer than Hyundais which is the
only reason I didn't buy from him. But this year, Hyundai are branching out with a 'luxury brand' - Genesis - and have a range of EVs coming too. If our guy can order those too, I know what my next car will be in a few years time.
Ordered: Enyaq Coupe iV vRS (Hyper Green). ETA July '22. Then September '22. Now who knows?
