Hi All.
I've just purchased a skoda sportline 85x 2023 model. This is my first electric vehicle. I haven't got my charger installed yet - closest date I could get was 9/9. I stupidly accepted the car before I got the home charger (lesson learnt)
I love the car....love the drive but really struggling with thus whole charging thing. I'm so used to getting in - 500+ on the clock - stopping to fuel if need be for 2mins and on my way again. Have I made the wrong decision? Does it get better when you have a home charger and is it just a bit of an adjustment?
Anyone else felt similar.
TIA
Skoda Sportline 85x - do I return?
It will definately improve when you get a home charger and you will also adjust your driving style once you start to get used to an EV. I drive between 25000-30000 miles a year in a 60 and don't miss my old diesel at all.
An 85 should comfortably achieve over 300 miles on a full charge which is more than anyone would drive without stopping, therefore you just top it up when you take a comfort break.

The simplest way to think about it, is that with a home charger, every time you jump into it in the morning, it has a full "tank" and 250-300miles range. It takes all of 5 seconds to plug the cable into the car when you arrive home at night.
If your diesel "magically" had half a tank every morning, how often would you need even think about putting fuel into it?

And there's a few ....
Buy a 16A granny charger and your fuel station is on the drive upon delivery. £200 well spent and can be used everywhere..... As stated above there's a ton of positives.
We're still working out the Ohme Pro installation BUT even on Octopus's Flexi tariff it's still a huge financial and time saving.
We top the battery up to 80% (30kW / 8 hours approx as my guide or +120 mile range) and now stop really thinking about it. Even SWMBO has unusually ceased gum bumping!
What's wrong with taking a driving break too, circa 30 mins is all that's really needed on a decent DC public charger to restore max battery in most cases. It's a little planning that the app does for you (if required) that really does give you ALL the info needed.
Give it time, and ease into the experience positively.
