I've had my Enyaq 85 from new a few days now, and even though it's early days, thought I'd share some initial thoughts - apologies if this is a dull read!

My previous car was a '22 Hyundai Tucson, petrol manual. The Enyaq is my first EV and actually my first automatic, so lots to get used to. I've jotted down some early positives and niggles, based on a hundred or so miles with the car.

Positives
The car is really smooth to drive, especially coming from a petrol manual. I love how quiet it is, how smoothly it accelerates and just how easy it is to get in and go. I'm yet to do any long journeys yet but I can tell it's going to be easy for crunching the miles. Helping with this is Travel Assist, which seems great. My Tucson had manual cruise control combined with active lane keeping so on the motorway was great, so I think the Enyaq will be a step above.

Likewise, the performance. It's very fast off the line, so much so that I need to get used to it to avoid shooting off when trying to get into a gap at a junction or something.

Loads of standard equipment, nothing really missing that I can think of that'd I'd really need.

It actually seems pretty easy to disable lane keep, speed limit warning etc when starting up, it quickly becomes part of the routine.

The practicality - loads of storage space throughout the cabin, and a big boot. It's actually 45 litres smaller than the boot on the Tucson, but I don't think you'd say that from just looking at them. Looking forward to filling it when we go camping.

I've not yet charged the car - it was delivered with about 50% charge and I'm waiting to get to 20% then I'll charge it. It seems to be taking a while to get down to that SoC, so I'll take that as a good sign of efficiency!

Niggles
I've posted elsewhere about this, but the biggest niggle so far is the ride quality. It is by no means a major issue, and I think the car rounds off potholes or speed bumps pretty well. I just find there's a bit of vibration or 'buzziness'. for want of a better word, up through the steering wheel and (to a lesser extent) the pedals on rougher surfaces - you can certainly feel what the road is doing. Now, my Tucson (on 18 inch wheels rather than 19s, as in the Enyaq) was similar, although that transferred it more through the pedals than the wheel. I think it's as much a me thing, I must be particularly sensitive to it, and I appreciate it's a symptom of large, heavy SUVs on big wheels, but still, hopefully it's something I get used to.

While the storage is great, without the Transport Pack (I think it's called? The one with the adjustable boot floor?) there isn't as much underfloor storage and nowhere to store the load cover if you remove it - although please correct me on that if I'm wrong.

The sound system is a bit mediocre - not bad by any means, but the Tucson I had was better in this regard. Still not a major problem at all though.

No physical or separate buttons for the climate controls is a shame - obviously not exclusive to the Enyaq though and at least the controls are still accessible at the bottom of the screen/the voice assistant seems to work well.

Obviously charging is a big part of owning an Enyaq so will need to get into the rhythm of that, but apart from the above niggles, liking it so far!

I would definately charge it before 20%, just to ensure there are no issues. Dont want to be dealing with charging problems while also having no battery left.

I'm a week - and 1200 miles - into my 85x Maxx. On the whole I love it. The system stopped talking to the app after a day or two, and now I can't set back up as the primary user, but Škoda think I am as they're system says so, so that's an annoying loop I'm currently in. That's the only negative.

I love the poke it's got, the driver assistance features, the stereo (Canton upgrade), the cool lights on the inside I didn't even know about, even the sat nav is great, I just wish it would pause the media when it has something to say, and would split screen like Android Auto.

For now I've got myself an Ionity Power Passport, direct from Ionity not the Škoda Powerpass route, as it's 43p / kW, so cheaper than Electroverse prices and the Tesla stations I've used. I'll see if I stick with that, but charging at 70p+ / kW quickly kicked me into action.

So yes, on the whole very much enjoying it.

Had mine a couple of days now. I didn't pay a lot of attention to lighting before ordering and didn't look into it at all during the 6 month wait, but I am pleasantly surprised by the Matrix headlights. Went out after dark for the first time yesterday and somehow switched on the automatic highbeam. The system is amazing - didn't get flashed once.
