ADJUSTING ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING

Hi Everyone, Does anyone know if you can adjust the rate at which the Enyaq charges. I have used a Podpoint public charger which charges at 22KW per hour however the Enyaq when connected to this only charges at 10.50kw Per hour is there anyway to increase the charge rate to 22kw Per hour it would half the charge time.

The Enyaq has an 11kW AC charger system. It cannot run at a higher power than that due to the components and wiring used. Many EVs use 11kW as the limit for AC charging, as if you need to charge faster you should really be using a DC rapid charger, which generally start at 50kW and have fewer losses than converting from AC to DC inside the car. AC charging is meant for slow overnight charging or 30 minute top ups whilst shopping, not rapidly charging from empty to full - for that you should be using DC.

You can reduce charging power (eg to prevent overloading a shared supply), but you can't increase it more than the electronics can handle.

As rich said above your stuck at 11 due to hardware limitations. Your looking at the follow rates per hour

7kW - 24mph
11kW - 34mph
50kW - 140mph

Roughly, depending on load at the site will dictate your charge rate along with battery temp and SOC.
