Minor App bug: Range

I've noticed if the MySkoda app is set to metric, and the car's distance units is set to miles, the app will sometimes (but not always) report the range in miles as range in km (i.e. without converting).

E.g. if the car says the battery state is 73% and the range is 172miles, the app will present it as 73% and range is 173km.

Obvious workaround is to have the app and car set to use the same units.

The MyŠKODA app at this point is definitely not the most stable. I encounter numerous different bugs from time to time but the one that happens the most is the info about Doors and lights missing, and occasionally displays the complete wrong mileage left compared what the car itself displays.

If you shake your phone a bug report page appears, fill it out and hopefully the more that do, they’ll act on the feedback 🤞🏾.

The app knows your car, but you have to fill in your VIN to submit a bug report. Lazy programming & suggest that will deter many users.

Brilliant! That's good to know, thanks. Is that standard?

I've already sent an email anyway, and got a reply.

What did they say? That's happening all the time with me now, never used to.

My MySkoda app does just the same. Door and window status often blank and remaining range sometimes, but not always, much less than reality as reported on the car. The remote control of A/C does work every time though.

Sent Bug report as app miles = 122, but car GOM = 198 miles at 78% charge.

I gave them chapter and verse on phone model, os and app versions. It was the end of the working day, so we'll see what they say tomorrow

I didn’t know about the shake thing to submit a bug report. I’ll definitely start using that. I had an issue the other day where the app was insisting the charger wasn’t connected, but my Enyaq was definitely charging.

By the way (lazy programming indeed!) - to get access to your VIN, just press the ‘more’ icon in the bottom right, and then select Vehicle Details. You should then be able to copy the VIN and paste it into the Bug Report page.

So yesterday, I put the car in miles, and the app in Imperial (UK) and synced the app and they both agreed at 170 miles range.

This morning the app was showing 105 miles (= 170km...freak out time because I have a journey to make today...)

Went to the car, still showing 170 miles. Refreshed the app's display a few times, and it's back to 170 miles as well...

It probably only works consistently when both are in metric.

Even if you have multiple cars registered in the app, it could present you with a dropdown/popup selector
