So it had to happen to someone at some point: My wife was just plugging the charge cable at an Instavolt charger at the weekend, tripped on the big rubber toblerone designed to stop cars reversing into the charger. As she fell, she snapped off the charge flap. I've actually managed to glue it back on (though her bruised and grazed arm will take longer to recover), but just in case anyone else does the same, they come as a complete unit of the whole black plastic bit that surrounds the socket, the hinge and the black plastic bit on the inside of the door itself - minus the body coloured rectangle bit. Cost is £52.50 including VAT, and it's just held on with four plastic clips. They're held in stock in the UK warehouse.

I remember on the Outlander forums that damaged charge flaps were quite common - either in strong winds, or when someone brushed up against the car whilst it was charging. The Enyaq one is just a bit more expensive to fix with the hinge being plastic to the Mitsubishi's metal one that you could usually bend back by hand.

Seems very reasonable. I remember having several Ford Escorts as company cars many years ago and the locking petrol cap always failed on them. From my poor memory they were £200 for the Ford one but I might have inflated the price in my head over the years.

Bruised and grazed elbow but otherwise fine.

Possibly there ought to be a warning sign about the trip hazard. I’m sure many of us have almost been caught out by those things. I guess bollards are harder to see so people more likely to hit them?

Did raise an earlier tread about the placement of the charge flap and it’s vulnerability to accidents - sorry to hear it has happened to you RichR. One of my initial concerns was the cost of replacement especially if the body coloured flap has to be colour matched - heartening to discover that the flap mechanism can be replaced on its own, as this is the part most likely to suffer damage.

Find supermarket charging points are the worst for shoppers trying to walk between 2 charging EVs with a shopping trolly, children etc. when there are charging cables everywhere. Even fellow EV owners are not always as careful as they could be. Very easy to catch the charging flap and cause damage imo. Better opening upwards, like a Tesla, or in the front grill.

I’ll be picking up the part tonight so I’ll let you know how the replacement process goes.

But yes, the body coloured bit unclips from the black plastic bit inside (just need a flat bladed screwdriver to release the clips).

Hi I think my catch bit has broken in the recent freezing weather conditions so keen to understand how the replacement process went. Can you also tell me where you ordered the part from?

Thank you

P.s anyone got any ideas on how to stop the catch element freezing? Which in turn stops you from shutting the filler flap.

I just emailed my local Skoda dealership, and they had it ready for me to collect the following day.

I put up a post with photos of the procedure: viewtopic.php?t=1259
