Yes, I know there are many systems that are in the car that are individually updatable and hence are on different internal versions. But there should be an overall package version number, and I was under the impression that the version showing on the Infotainment screen was the overall package version. From that version number, a Skoda dealer could then check and see that an overall version of 0333 means that the drive train computer is on version 123 and the brake system on version 765 etc etc. After all, the "human friendly" name of ME3.0 is the overall update, and this seems tied to the Infotainment version shown. You said yourself - ME3.1 will show 0561 on the Infotainment system.tiger tony wrote: ↑Fri Nov 25, 2022 6:07 pmYou must understand that the information regarding the software version 0333 shown on the infotainment system screen is just that - THE SOFTWARE FOR THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN ONLY.Tungro wrote: ↑Fri Nov 25, 2022 2:46 pm I had the notification too, this afternoon. I installed it and it appears to have done... nothing obvious? Still have ME3.0, showing as 0333.
The update itself stated that the update contains:
Information about Over-the-Air Update
* Improved display of future version information
* The update is required to ensure information is displayed correctly in the future
It has nothing to do with the 40 or so other modules with their own software that make up the whole of the vehicle. Any number of these modules may have had a small update given to them during your recent download. The only way to find out is to plug in an OBD reader and check each module.
When ME3.1 finally comes along over the air, it will update quite a few other modules with new software and it will also update the infotainment screen software to its new version of 0561. Every vehicle will have different software due to the vast choice of options and extras but the screen will still show only 0561.
Hope that makes sense.
The point I'm trying to make really is that if there was a change to any subsystem, I'd expect that subsystem version to change, and that to roll up too, so the overall version number increments by one when ANY subsystem changes. Whether that actually happens or not, I don't know!
