Seems to have been a common problem - happened to me despite having done a 40mile hour long journey - having charged overnight to 80% on IOG.

Happened to me as well yesterday, but I only got my new Enyaq on Monday so wasn’t sure if this was a normal thing or a one-off! :D

I'm getting it a lot since the ME3 update - never had the issue on ME2 (with the old 12V battery type). Most times now when I go out to the car it doesn't respond to touching the handle to unlock and the headlights don't come on as I approach - ie it thinks the 12V battery voltage is low. Admittedly I'm not using the car much at the moment, and it is cold, but I suspect it's something like the threshold for low voltage is a bit off.

If I can be bothered I'll charge the 12V battery, but it's going in for its service in 2 weeks so I'll maybe mention it to the dealership then.

March 2024 and my new enyaq is getting this same message in the app every couple of days.. Just had to go out and open car doors 9.40pm as last time it didn't charge overnight when this happened. So it's definitely still an issue

Had this last night AGAIN. Happening far to many times. It's even done it when the car is not plugged into the charger. I work on the road so need to charge every night. It does not help that I use OI who state I must let them select charging times. However, I have no problems if i use scheduled times from my charger enen if I get this message. Skoda totally unreliable. Nowhere is there a definitive answer to this problem.

Is anything other than Octopus polling the car?

Mine charges every night on IO, and i've never seen this message (excepting the outage mentioned at the start of this thread when everyone got it).

However i've heard that if the car is polled too often, the API will block further polls for a period of time to save the 12v battery.

I also get it very frequently, usually when plugged into the charger but not always. It’s annoying. I charge using OI through an Ohme Home Pro charger and once the scheduled charge starts, the message goes away.

My car is very glitchy on the software side in general. I’ve had multiple random error messages about various things being temporarily unavailable flash up, only to disappear moments later.

I have had this message once from using schedule charging with Ohme.

I am not with Octopus and just using the chargers scheduled charge.

The one time this occurred I believe the charger was supplying very low amount of charge and the car refused the charge.

Not had this message again since.

I had the message a few times over the winter, mainly when the car was not used for several days because I was working from home, most of the time not associated with charging. I tried turning off Octopus smart charging when I was not going to be using the car, to stop Octopus polling the car, and avoided checking the charge/range in the app, but the messages occurred just as frequently. On one occassion driving the car for over 10 miles did not clear the condition so I had to resort to using a charging schedule in the car as Octopus did not detect the car being connected so did not create a smart schedule. A few times it occurred at the end of, or after Octopus charging but charging still achieved the required charge. In all cases Car Scanner reported the 12V battery state of charge as being below 80% and sometimes as low as 60%. Since the spring it has not occurred, although the 12V battery state of charge is still sometimes below 70%.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have a Shell Advanced charger. Not my choice as it was supplied by my company. There should not be a problem with the 12v batt as I usually do approx 60 - 100 miles a day for work. OI sets the the charge times no bother, but, if I get the Battery Protection message it will NOT charge the car. OI can see there is an issue but reschedules the charge time. I tend not to look at the skoda app, but as an example, the app could show everything ok when I go to bed. If the batt protection msg happens after that then when I get up in the morning it's no charge. so frustrating when I have to rely on it every day.
