I just happened to notice the other day that when using the max button to clear my screen that when you open the clima screen on Info system there's still 2 more fan speeds left to go even when max button is pressed so you can get even more air onto the windscreen by not using the max button but by just turning the fans on full blast!

This then led me to notice that (in my case) when I pressed the max button my predicted range dropped to 83 miles but when I turned the fans up the last 2 notches the max button un illuminates and my predicted miles went up to 97!

My temp was set to 24° and AC was illuminated on both but I would of thought that making the fans blow faster by using the last 2 notches would of used more power but my predicted range would suggest different, any ideas why?

MAX runs the heater at full power, not the fan.

It reduces the range because with it on MAX the heater will just keep pumping out heat constantly and thus using power constantly.

With MAX off, it reverts to normal climate control where the heater output varies depending on cabin temperature etc. Once the cabin is warm the heater backs off its power consumption and thus you use less energy.

24 seems higher than needed? I have mine set to 20 which is fine with winter clothes on?
If you have them use heated seat and steering wheel instead. Wheel only needs to be on lowest power for a few minutes, seat slightly longer, but compensates for a cooler cabin, particularly if travelling alone. Could even then having heating even lower.

I'm done with the faff off driving around freezing tbh. My hands get cold easily and then i'm just uncomfortable. I tend to run heated seats and steering wheel AND have the cabin at a decent temp. That said, i also dislike driving in heavy clothes... i'll tend to take my jacket off. My commute is an hour and a bit each way every day. I want to be comfortable, rather than bound up in a thick jacket.

I typically run 23ish too. The Enyaq (and actually other EV's too) has an annoying quirk where on a longer trip (say an hour) it'll start blowing nice and warm, then maybe 20-30mins in once the cabins all fully warmed thru, it seems to start blowing very cool air. I cant abide that, and by running it a bit hotter (ie 23-24 rather than 21) it seems to take the edge off a bit. It still does it, just not as badly. If i leave it at 21, i'll notice i'm getting cold about half way to work.

The reality is, i have plenty range, so why bother trying to eeke out an extra kilowatt hour by keeping the car cold?

Surely the whole point of heating, air con, seats & wheel is to achieve comfort? Whatever that may mean to the individual concerned. Any married person here will immediately realise that there's no such thing as a correct temperature, in a car or in a room.
If we start to switch all manner of things off in the pursuit of an extra few miles range, where does that end? (Well, obviously it ends a few miles further on than it would have done. But you know what I mean.) Almost everything in the vehicle consumes electricity - some things a lot, some not so much.

I thought 'EV range anxiety' only manifested itself as a worry about 'will I reach my destination?', 'where can I get charged?' etc.
Or is there another form of this ailment, where the sufferers get an urge for fur-lined gloves, duck-down parkas, UGG boots before entering the chill chamber of their vehicle? :D

Never used to have these discussions when there were only ICE on the road.

That's what I thought could be the cause but because when i used the max button the display still said 24° so I assumed the the heater was aiming for 24° whether it be on max or full blowers!

Unfortunately I don't have heated seats nor steering wheel, welcome to the cheap seats!

I'd set it to 24 as I was trying to clear the usual 25 litres of condensation from the screen!

I have none either, I do run my airco summer and winter so there is no chance of condensation.
Ordered June 21. Race Blue, Suit, 19" Proteus wheels, 100kw charging, Heat Pump, Comfort seat plus, Climate package plus, Transport pack, Drive Sport basic, Assisted Drive basic, Parking basic. Then I ran out of money!

Ahh, I'm from Yorkshire so I'm tighter than an otters pocket, therefore I don't put the aircon/heating until its about 5° outside! That's what jumpers are for my dad Ince told me! I mainly get condensation on cold wet nights after its been sat for hours
