Why is power the same in 85 x as compared to 85, when 85x has 2 motors?
Is total power limited by battery discharge rate ?
Power 85x
Discussed this recently in another thread.
They've presumably chosen to keep the power the same for marketing reasons. The VRS is the high power model.
The old 80 model only had 200hp, limited by the rear motor. Thus the 80x was boosted to 265 with the addition of the front motor. The original VRS model had 300 (essentially like the short term boost on the rear motor on the cupra).
The new 85 rear motor can do 285hp all by itself. With the new VRS sitting at 340hp, they have thus decided to position the 85x with 4wd, but power limited to the same as the normal 85, much like you'd get with an ICE car which comes in 2wd/4wd variants.
