I would think 12-16 weeks is overly optimistic - that would be somewhere between 28/12/21 and 25/01/22. 1st April is just over 25 weeks from your order date.

I've been quoted 28 weeks for delivery of my Kodiaq, ordered last Saturday, which puts it in late April, but expecting it might be longer than that.

Yep, not my quoted time but the dealers.

She mentioned the build times were shorter for the 80x at present, guess that may bot be true when you add the number of packs I have that will no doubt rely on said chips . Not in any rush so it will be get here when it does.

BTW, we have Kodiaq at the moment. Decent car that I'm sure you will really enjoy.

Just tried to get an update from Skoda chat, no good news:

"Unfortunately we cannot currently retrieve status codes for orders..
As of yesterday, we were alerted to some status codes being wrong and instead of giving our incorrect information, for the time being we've been advised not to.
Retailer liaises directly with Factory and will be able to chase up for you."

Bugger.

Thanks, I've had my current Kodiaq Sportline since Jan 19 and agree entirely - it's an excellent car and so much more reliable and practical than my previous LR Disco Sport. The new one will have a few extra bits over my current car as well such as Matrix LED headlights, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats as well as front and the virtual cockpit.

I seriously considered an Enyaq but just couldn't make the finance work for me on my preferred option of an 80X Sportline. Just too expensive once I'd added very similar options to what I've ended up with on my next Kodiaq. Difference was about £6-7k. Combined with the £2750 finance contribution on the Kodiaq (nothing on an Enyaq) meant it just didn't make financial sense to go full electric just yet.

Part of me hopes that in 4-5 years electric cars will have moved on again and ranges available will again increase by a similar level to what was available back in 2016. Back then, with the notable exception of the Tesla Models S and X, the best you could get at real-world costs were the Renault Zoe and Nissan Leaf, both of which would barely cover 100 miles on a full charge. Look where we are now and the number of cars flooding the market that will comfortably cover double that and more. Even Tesla have moved the game on and not just sat on their laurels.

Great car the Kodiaq, certainly is a jump in price for the Enyaq. We want one electric car and this seems to fit the bill well for the family.

It's a lot of car for the money compared to some of the other electric vehicles out there.

Saw this interesting YouTube video earlier, talking about increased leadtimes and car manufacturers deliberately building the more expensive models first (bigger profit margin) and making people wait

Just moved my vote to 4-6 months so far, really hope I don't have to move it again. Ordered beginning of June, build week 30, last update Tuesday of this week still in production with no clues as to when it will be finished. Sometimes we're told semi conductors, other times we're just told waiting for parts. Wouldn't be so bad if build slots after ours are already getting deliveries. Have no choice but to stick with our order rather than going to the back of another queue

It says they will be concentrating on completing the part built cars. So I guess some of us may have another few weeks added on, but those who ordered before August might finally see their cars completed. Skoda have been able to keep production up longer than many European manufacturers, but it seems they've now reached that point where they have to clear the backlog.

Sensible approach to take, whilst frustrating I would rather they focus on building orders they have then taking a crazy amount of orders they cannot fufill.

Mine was ordered on Monday , despite the dealer stating potentially 16 weeks I'm not expecting anything until April timeframe, anything earlier is a bonus

I think 16 weeks was what it took years ago to get my bog standard factory order Octavia.

That sounds more like a 'standard' response without any consideration for the current difficulties.

My car was due to start its build this week. Last news I had is that it is now going to be next week.

I may well be fortunate, who knows. But it made me think this morning about how I would feel being told "nope, it's now 2022". To my surprise, it would be a shrug. My current car - a diesel - is still running well. The one person inconvenienced would be the friend who is intending to buy it off me; it may be that their need may mean that plan changes.

Would it make me look around? Perhaps, out of curiosity, although for several reasons, I had decided the Enyaq suited me.

I've already looked around for stock cars, but what I found were either over-priced, not actually in the showroom yet, or were missing options I really wanted.

I think for me, the important thing would be a degree of certainty, rather than the "will it happen/will it be affected by the chip shortage" thing.

Likewise for us, we are lucky to not be in any real rush plus this isn't a Skoda issue, all car manufactures have shut down or severely reduced capacity so if you cancel you will just start in a new line unless you find stock somewhere.

I looked at the electric market and there really isn't anything close to the Enyaq as a family car. Tesla model X which is bigger is 100K, the mercs are a lot more expensive and not that great. Hyundai / Kia have cheaper interiors although they have some nice tech.

Fingers crossed people that have been waiting for a while get theirs built soon
