Well whatever Traffic Jam Assist is or isn’t, my Enyaq definitely completely stops and starts again by itself, in heavy traffic (if I want it to).

Very happy with that - especially after being told last month that it would be dropped. Quite possibly my Enyaq scraped through with the last of the batch, or none of us are any wiser as to what TJA actually is 😂😂

I have a feeling it might refer to something that was never actually implemented before launch, like the self parking systems which are hinted at in the manual ("Park Steering Assist" on page 186 for example), and definitely appear in early Skoda and VW marketing releases. Or maybe it's always enabled on any car with adaptive cruise control.

Well that's fairly reassuring for me then, although I've got another Kodiaq on order rather than an Enyaq, but suspect some of the tech like ACC and TJA are very similar. I decided against the full Travel Assist option which includes Traffic Sign Recognition, Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control and Trafic Jam Assist. It's £510 more than just having the 'standard' ACC option and given that the TSR is only a £95 option on its own, would imply that the Predictive part of the ACC plus TJA would be supposedly worth £415. Hmm.

My current Kodiaq has just ACC rather than PACC and it indeed comes to a complete stop and restarts by itself in stop-start traffic, so not entirely sure what TJA would bring to the party? I'm hoping my new car will continue to behave in exactly the same way as my current one though.

Successful app-activated preheating of the interior, seats and windows on this frosty morning (unlike my wife’s Qashqai in the foreground - I’ll let her use my Skoda ice scraper! 😆).
Mirrors didn’t defrost though, although I might have to set something up somewhere for that. They did clear quickly though once I started driving.

Successful overnight charge, albeit only at 3kW - but I suspect this is down to PodPoint possibly still not having unleashed the full 7kW after my 100A main fuse upgrade.

By the way, regarding Traffic Jam Assist, I mentioned to my dealership that despite them advising me it would be dropped, my car appears to have it after all. They said that I must have been “one of the lucky ones” as there were some that made it through. I suppose Skoda just made a blanket announcement that it would be dropped on the Assisted Drive Basic package. Probably easier than working out who has it and who doesn’t. There’s nothing on the screen that says it’s on - it just seems to be part of the Adaptive Cruise Control.

Also I’ve already noticed other EV drivers turning their heads to look, and someone pointing as I drove past them, to say something to the person they were with !

Still smiling 🙂 !

Hi there Goaty. Yours is a 80X ? I ordered a 80X in July and still no signs of it... no production planned yet :(
So you're happy with it, overall.. right? Any negative point you would mention by now... or any really positive of surprising aspect?
By the way, whay's the sound like.. does it has a subwoofer with good bass..?

Hi there

Just a quick reply (I’ll do more later)

I have an 80, not 80X

No bad points yet

Audio is good. I produce electronic music and I’m more satisfied with the audio here than in the Beemer I had before. Haven’t looked or read anything about it but I think there might be a dedicated bass speaker. Will record something to demonstrate 👍

Just been on a longish drive (and experimented with charging at Beaconsfield services on the M40). Gridserve 30p / kWh 👍. IONITY 69 p 😱. Had to wait about 15 mins before I could have a go. I made sure no one else was waiting (as I just wanted to experiment rather than actually needing to charge).

I’m nitpicking, but one slightly annoying feature is auto dimming on the driver’s wing mirror. I remember my A4 used to do that too. I actually find it quite dangerous, as a car with badly adjusted headlights can make the mirror too dark, making it impossible to see cyclists with dark clothing and poor lights. Used to have that issue driving around London in the dark. I don’t think this can be disabled.

And for some odd reason, with Clima On, I have 209 miles of range left and with Clima Off, it’s actually less, at 194 miles left !!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I assume the charging process went OK.. Any other impressions, positive or negative? Sound power... good bass/subwoofer?, Confort ?, soundproofing ?, camaras for parking ? Is autonomy in line with what they say...?
As I stil dont know when will I have my 80, just looking forward to have as much feedback as possible. Thanks !
